Keeping staff powers out of normal play.

I ran a survival multiplayer server and had trouble with staff using their permissions to give themselves an advantage. I wanted them to be able to moderate the server and still play fairly, so I built a staff mode.

Staff could switch into moderation mode to do their work, then return to their original location and player state when they left it. That became the starting point for Staff Suite, which grew to include reports, punishments, player history and other moderation tools.

Once it was working on my server, I thought other owners might want it too. I spent more time developing it and put it up for sale.

Someone bought it.

My first customer joined the Discord, and I got to thank her and tell her she was the first person to buy it. That’s still the milestone I remember most. Sales grew much faster than I expected over the next few months.

Staff Suite launched on BuiltByBit in November 2025. Performance Suite followed a week later, and Home Suite came out in December. Together they became MySuite, with optional add-ons alongside the main plugins.

I handle the whole thing.

I do the plugin development, website, artwork, documentation and support myself. I also built the licensing system and an independent storefront where customers can buy products and manage their licences and downloads.

A lot of the ongoing work happens through support tickets: answering questions, investigating bugs and getting fixes out. It’s a different kind of work from making the first version, and it has taken up a lot of my time since launch.

People wanted something I’d made.

After that first sale, winning BuiltByBit’s competition for the most add-ons sold in January 2026 was another proud moment. The prize included a pair of BuiltByBit socks.

Finding someone asking online for a pirated copy was a strange proud moment too. I hadn’t expected people to want my software that much.

Keeping MySuite running.

I’m spending less time on new MySuite development as I take on other projects. It’s still an active business, and I continue to handle support and fixes. My aim now is to get the products to a stable point where they need less day-to-day attention.
